Tarmeko at the London Design Fair 2019
Usually at least once a year one of Tarmeko's factories participates at a furniture fair. This year the group was exhibiting at two new places: South-Korea and London. We have talked about the Korean fair, today is London's turn.
The fair we participated in is called London Design Fair 2019. The fair took place in Old Truman Brewery during 19-22.09. To describe the fair, the organizers have put together a lovely and short introduction: "Located in the creative heart of East London, the London Design Fair is a four-day event that brings together 550 exhibitors from 40 countries, including; independent designers, established brands, international country pavilions, features and exhibitions. As the most international trade destination during the annual London Design Festival over 29,000 influential; retail buyers, architects, interior designers, press, designers and design-savvy public attend to see and specify the very latest; furniture, lighting, textiles, materials and conceptual installations from around the world."
NO37 chair together with armchair Smooth
For us was it a smaller scale fair then we are used to. German fairs like IMM, Interzum are in a bigger fairground. Still, we liked the fact that the fair took place in an old historical building and the vibe was different there. We saw many interesting stands and met great people. The fair was also quite exhausting since it ended on Sunday, not Friday or Saturday. So we were a bit tired but happy! :)
At the fair, Tarmeko LPD showed the UK customers our Ray collection chairs (Ray bar stool and RayBoy), TP2 and NO37 chairs and our elegant Tango rectangle table. On the other hand, in the corner, you can see our newest student chair and table set Elme. Upholstery factory brought the Smooth armchair. The stand itself was 20m2 so we had to pick wisely which products to take but the feedback was great! For both Tarmeko LPD and upholstery, the UK market is still rather unfamiliar and we do not have many customers there but with this fair, we hope to change that.
